Copyright and DMCA policy
Draft prepared September 2026
SOPCompass hosts SOPs, images, files and other content that our customers put into it. SOPCompass is operated by Ironbridge AI Advisory LLC, which respects the rights of copyright owners and responds to notices of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. 512. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, how the person who posted it can respond, and what happens to repeat infringers.

Sending a notice of infringement
If you believe content in SOPCompass infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, send our agent a written notice that includes all of the following (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed or, if several works are covered by one notice, a representative list of them.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough information for us to find it. A share link or the full web address of the SOP or file is best.
- Your contact information: name, postal address, telephone number and, if available, email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
A notice that is missing any of these elements may not be effective, and we may ask you to complete it. Before sending, consider whether the use may be fair use or otherwise permitted. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation that material is infringing can be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
What we do with a notice
When we receive a complete notice, we act promptly to remove or disable access to the material, and we make reasonable efforts to notify the workspace owner and the person who posted it, including a copy of the notice. Because workspaces are private, most content is visible only to that workspace's members and to anyone holding a share link to it.
Sending a counter-notice
If material you posted was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send our agent a counter-notice that includes all of the following (17 U.S.C. 512(g)(3)):
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Ironbridge AI Advisory may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or that person's agent.
When we receive a complete counter-notice, we send a copy to the person who sent the original notice and tell them we will restore the material in 10 business days. We restore it no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice, unless our agent first receives notice that the original complainant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement. Knowingly misrepresenting that material was removed by mistake can also create liability under 17 U.S.C. 512(f).
Repeat infringers
Ironbridge AI Advisory terminates, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We keep a record of the valid notices we receive against each account. An account that is the subject of repeated valid notices, where the material was not restored after a counter-notice, may be suspended or terminated, and a workspace whose members repeatedly infringe may be closed. We may also remove content or suspend access where infringement is apparent without a notice.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version here. See also our terms of service.
