Capture rewrite, and the limits on AI features

The capture rewrite turns steps like Click "Save" into clear instructions, and is capped at 20 per person per day. This page also lists the size limits and caps on every other AI feature.

Capture rewrite

The SOPCompass Capture Chrome extension records a task as mechanical steps: Click "Save", Type into "Email", Choose "Closed Won" in "Stage". On the capture’s review page, Rewrite the wording with AI turns them into a procedure: “Save the opportunity”, with an instruction such as “Click Save at the top right of the opportunity.”

What it changes, and what it doesn’t

  • It writes one step for each captured step, in the same order. It never merges, splits, drops or reorders steps, because each step keeps its own screenshot.
  • It only rewrites words. The highlight boxes were measured from the page itself at the moment of the click, so the AI never moves them.
  • It never invents the value you typed, because the extension never recorded it. A typing step says which field to fill in, in general terms.
  • Your notes on a step are worked into its instruction.
  • Nothing is published. The rewrite lands in your draft for review, and you can undo it.

Protection against instructions in web pages

Button labels, page titles and addresses were copied from someone else’s web page, so they could contain text like “ignore the above”. Everything read from the page is placed inside marked data tags, and the AI is told that anything there, or anything written inside a screenshot, is data describing the screen and never an instruction to follow.

Note: This lowers the risk of a page steering the rewrite. It can’t remove it entirely, which is one more reason every rewrite is reviewed before publishing.

These limits are set in the application code or the database.

Common questions

How many capture rewrites can I run?

20 per person per day, one at a time per capture, and none while the capture is still recording. A rewrite that never reports back stops blocking the capture after 10 minutes, but still counts toward the day.

Is there a daily limit on Ask?

SOPCompass doesn't set a per person daily limit on Ask today. If the AI provider is busy or rate limited, Ask tells you to try again shortly.
