What data is sent to the AI, feature by feature

Every AI request is built on SOPCompass’s servers from content read as you, using your own sign-in. The database’s row-level security decides what can be read, so a request can only include content you are allowed to open.

Ask

Sent to Anthropic: your question (up to 2,000 characters) and up to eight SOPs that matched it in the workspace’s search, each with its title, board and library name. Each SOP’s text is cut at 14,000 characters.

Not sent: SOPs you can’t open, SOPs that didn’t match, your name or email, other people’s questions.

Build with AI, typed

Sent to Anthropic on each turn: the interviewer’s instructions; the workspace name, website and description an admin entered in Workspace settings; an outline of the workspace (boards, libraries and SOP titles you can see); the SOP being improved, if you chose one; the interviewer’s running notes; and the most recent 40 turns of the conversation.

When you turn the interview into proposals: the transcript, the running notes and the workspace outline.

Not sent: other people’s interviews, SOP content you can’t see.

Build with AI, voice

Sent to ElevenLabs: your voice, streamed live from your browser, plus the same interviewer instructions, workspace description, outline and earlier conversation that a typed interview uses. SOPCompass also tags the conversation with the interview, workspace and user ids so it can be matched to your interview.

Then sent to Anthropic: the saved transcript, when you turn the interview into proposals.

Import a document

PDF: the file is uploaded to a private storage bucket, and Anthropic receives a signed link to it that expires after 10 minutes. The app deletes the uploaded file as soon as the draft comes back. If the browser is closed while the draft is being written, the file can remain in that private bucket until it is removed.

Word, Markdown, text, CSV and HTML files: your browser reads the file and converts it to text, and that text (up to 500,000 characters) is sent. The file itself isn’t uploaded.

Audio: your browser transcribes it (see below) and only the transcript is sent. The audio isn’t uploaded.

Record a process and Upload a video

Sent to Anthropic: up to 24 still frames taken from the recording where the screen changed, stored in SOPCompass’s image storage and passed as links; each frame’s timestamp and the region that changed; and, if the video has narration, the transcript made in your browser (up to 40,000 characters).

Not sent to the AI: the video file. If you leave Keep the original video at the top of the card ticked (it is on by default), the original video is uploaded to SOPCompass storage so it can play in the SOP, but it is not given to the AI.

Quiz drafting

Sent to Anthropic: the one SOP you are writing a quiz for (up to 40,000 characters), the workspace description, and the text of questions already in the quiz so they aren’t repeated.

Capture rewrite

Sent to Anthropic: the captured steps of that one capture: the action, the control’s label, the page title, the page address (host and path only), your notes, and up to 40 of the step screenshots.

Not sent: anything typed into fields (the extension never records typed values), password or card fields, query strings.

AI sort

Sent to Anthropic: the workspace description, the list of pillars and departments, every library, and for each SOP its title, an outline of its sections and the first 500 characters of its text.

Speech transcription

Transcription of imported audio and video narration runs in your browser. The audio is not sent to Anthropic, ElevenLabs or any transcription service.

Important: Screenshots and documents show whatever was on screen or on the page. If a frame, screenshot or file contains personal or confidential information, that is sent to the AI with it. Remove it before you draft if it shouldn’t leave SOPCompass.

What no AI feature sends

• Passwords, sign-in tokens or API keys
• Payment card details (SOPCompass never has them)
• Content from a workspace you aren’t a member of
• Content from SOPs you can’t open
