Every AI feature in SOPCompass, and where to find it
SOPCompass uses AI to answer questions, interview you, draft SOPs from files and recordings, write quiz questions, tidy captured workflows and sort your workspace. This page lists each one.

SOPCompass is built around one rule: the AI proposes, a person approves. Each feature below either answers a question or hands you a draft to review. None of them publishes content by itself.

What each one does
Ask
Ask answers questions about how your company works, using only the SOPs the person asking is allowed to open. Answers cite the SOPs they came from, and Ask says plainly when your SOPs don’t cover something. See How Ask stays grounded.
Build with AI
An interviewer asks you one question at a time about a process, or about the whole business, and then drafts SOPs and a proposal for where they belong. You approve or reject each item. You can type or talk. See How Build with AI works.
Drafting from documents, recordings and videos
Upload a PDF or Word document, an audio recording, or a screen recording, and the AI drafts an SOP with sections and steps for you to review. Speech in recordings is transcribed inside your browser. See Drafting from documents, audio and video.
Quiz drafting
In an SOP’s quiz editor, Generate with AI drafts knowledge check questions from that SOP. Each draft waits for you to keep or discard it. See AI quiz drafting.
Capture rewrite
After you record a workflow with the SOPCompass Capture extension, the AI can rewrite mechanical steps like Click "Save" into clear instructions. See Capture rewrite and AI limits.
AI sort
On the Business plan, an admin can ask the AI to propose which pillar each library belongs in and which departments each SOP is for. An admin approves or corrects every item before anything moves. See AI sort.
What is not AI
Search, assignments, read tracking, share links, version history and Insights reports don’t use a language model. Search and Ask’s retrieval step use Postgres full text search, not an AI service.
Note: The free AI SOP generator on sopcompass.com is a separate public tool. It isn’t connected to any workspace and doesn’t save what you type.
Common questions
Does the AI change my SOPs on its own?
No. Every AI feature either answers a question or returns a draft. Nothing reaches your boards, libraries or SOPs until a person reviews it and saves, approves or publishes it.
Which AI features can a viewer use?
Viewers can use Ask. Build with AI, document and video imports, quiz drafting and the capture rewrite need edit access, and AI sort needs an admin or owner on the Business plan.
