Accounts, sign-in and invitations FAQ
People join by invitation and sign in with Google, a password or an emailed sign-in link. Here is how each works and how to fix the usual problems.
Everyone in SOPCompass signs in at app.sopcompass.com. Accounts are created by invitation, which is what proves each person owns their email address, and a workspace’s owners and admins decide who is in.
Once someone is in, they can use whichever sign-in method suits them: Google, a password, or an emailed link. See Google sign-in for the details of that option and Email notifications for every email the app sends.
Note: If you use the installed phone app, emailed links open in your phone’s browser rather than the app. Finish there, then come back and sign in with Google or your password.
Common questions
How do people get an account?
By invitation. An owner or admin invites them from People with an email address and a role. The invitation email contains a link; clicking it proves the address belongs to them, signs them in and adds them to the workspace. There is no public sign-up form for joining an existing workspace.
How do I start a brand new workspace?
Start a free trial at app.sopcompass.com/start. After checkout the workspace is created and a sign-in email is sent to the address you gave.
What are the ways to sign in?
Continue with Google, an email and password, or a one-time sign-in link emailed to you. All three reach the same account as long as the email address is the same.
Do I have to set a password?
No. After you accept an invitation SOPCompass offers to set a password, but you can skip it and sign in later with Google or an emailed sign-in link.
I was invited but never set a password. How do I get back in?
On the sign-in page choose Email me a sign-in link and enter the invited address. If the address has been invited, a link arrives in a few minutes. If nothing comes, ask whoever invited you to resend the invitation from People.
I forgot my password.
Choose Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and enter your email. You get a reset link that lets you choose a new password.
I signed in with Google and see 'No workspace yet'. Why?
Your Google address has not been invited to any workspace. Ask an admin to invite that exact address, or sign in with the address you were invited with, then reload.
What can each role do?
Viewers read SOPs, work through steps, comment, take quizzes, sign policies and complete their assignments. Editors also create and edit SOPs, assign them, create share links and embeds, and build quizzes. Admins also invite and remove people, manage departments, create API keys (Business) and permanently delete archived SOPs. Owners can do everything, including billing. Only an owner can make someone else an owner, and a workspace can't lose its last owner.
Can one person belong to several workspaces?
Yes. Someone invited to more than one workspace switches between them in the app with the same sign-in. On Business, the owner can create up to 5 workspaces on one subscription.
How do I change someone's role or remove them?
Owners and admins do both from People. Removing a person takes away their access to that workspace. Policy sign-offs they made stay on record.
Can I change the email address I sign in with?
There isn't a self-serve setting for this yet. Email support@ironbridgeaiadvisory.com from your current address and the team will help.
Do you support single sign-on (SAML), Okta, Azure AD or SCIM?
Not today. Sign-in is Google, password or emailed link. There is no SAML single sign-on and no SCIM user provisioning, so people are invited and removed in the app.
Does the invitation link expire?
Sign-in and invitation links are single use and expire after a while. If one no longer works, ask an admin to resend the invitation, or request a fresh sign-in link from the sign-in page.
