Sign in with Google

Anyone invited with a Google address can sign in with Google. It finds their invitation automatically. It doesn't sync users or enforce Google-only sign-in.

Continue with Google is on the SOPCompass sign-in page. It lets anyone whose Google address was invited to a workspace sign in without a password.

How it works

  1. On app.sopcompass.com, press Continue with Google.
  2. Google asks which account to use. Pick the one with the address you were invited with.
  3. Google confirms who you are and sends you back to SOPCompass, signed in. The Google screen may show auth.sopcompass.com, the SOPCompass sign-in address.

Because Google has proven you own the address, any invitation waiting for it is accepted on your first sign-in, exactly as if you had clicked the invitation email. If your profile has no name yet, SOPCompass fills it in from your Google account. It never overwrites a name you set yourself.

Who can use it

  • Invited people. An owner or admin invites your Google address from People. You can then use Google any time, even if you first joined with the emailed link.
  • Existing members. If you already have an account with the same email address, Google signs you into it. Your password, if you set one, keeps working too.

If you sign in with a Google address nobody has invited, you land on No workspace yet. Nothing is shared with that account. Ask an admin to invite that exact address, or sign out and use the address you were invited with.

Note: On the installed phone app, Google sign-in is the easiest method, because emailed links open in the phone’s browser rather than the app.

If it doesn’t work

  • “Sign-in didn’t finish” with a reason from Google: try again, and check you picked the right account. Some company Google accounts are set by their administrator to block sign-in to outside apps; ask your IT team or use an emailed link instead.
  • “Google sign-in isn’t available right now”: use your email and password, or Email me a sign-in link.

What it doesn’t do

  • It isn’t SAML single sign-on, and there’s no Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or other identity provider option.
  • It doesn’t create users from your Google Workspace directory or remove them when they leave. Invite and remove people in People.
  • It can’t be made the only allowed sign-in method.

Common questions

Does it work with personal Gmail and Google Workspace accounts?

Yes, both, as long as the address is the one that was invited.

Can I make Google the only way my team signs in?

No. Every member can also use a password or an emailed sign-in link. There is no setting to enforce one method.

Does SOPCompass see my Google password or files?

No. Google handles the sign-in and tells SOPCompass your email address and name. SOPCompass doesn't get access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or password.

Is this SAML single sign-on?

No. It is Sign in with Google for individual accounts. SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning are not available.

What happens when someone leaves my company?

Suspending their Google account stops them signing in with Google, but they could still use a password or emailed link if their mailbox works. Remove them from the workspace in People as well.
