Embed an SOP in Notion

Paste the embed link into a Notion embed block and drag it to the height you want. The SOP stays current as you edit it in SOPCompass.

Notion embeds from a URL, not from HTML, so use the embed link rather than the embed code. For how embeds work in general, see Embedding SOPs in other tools.

Steps

  1. In SOPCompass, open the SOP and press Share.
  2. Create a share link labelled Notion (or the page name) and press Copy embed link. It looks like https://app.sopcompass.com/embed/<token>.
  3. In Notion, type /embed on the page and choose Embed.
  4. Paste the link and choose Embed link.
  5. Drag the bottom edge of the block to the height you want.

Sizing

Notion doesn’t run the resize script, so the SOP keeps the height you give the block and scrolls inside it. For a long SOP, make the block tall enough to show the first few steps; readers can scroll inside it or use Open in SOPCompass at the top of the embed to read it full screen.

Things to know

  • Anyone who can see the Notion page can read the SOP, including guests and, if the page is published to the web, the public.
  • The embed shows the current SOP each time the page loads, so edits in SOPCompass appear in Notion automatically.
  • If you paste the link as a plain link or a bookmark instead of an embed, Notion shows a link card. That works too; it just opens the SOP in a new tab.

Removing it

Delete the block in Notion and revoke the share link in SOPCompass. Revoking alone is enough to stop the SOP showing: the block will say “This SOP isn’t available.”
