Use SOPCompass on your phone

SOPCompass works in the browser on any phone or tablet. You can also add it to your home screen so it opens like an app, in its own window.

Install it on iPhone or iPad

1. Open app.sopcompass.com in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

The first time you open SOPCompass on an iPhone or iPad, a small message at the bottom shows these steps. Tap Got it to hide it.

Install it on Android

1. Open app.sopcompass.com in Chrome and sign in.
2. When the message Install the app appears at the bottom, tap Install. You can also use the browser menu and choose to install the app or add it to the home screen.

The install message appears once, on phones and tablets that are not already running the installed app. Tap Not now to dismiss it.

Signing in on the installed app

Emailed sign-in and password reset links open in your phone’s browser, not in the installed app. Finish there, then open the app and sign in with Continue with Google or your password.

What works well on a phone

• Following an SOP: the reader bar stays in reach, Mark done is easy to tap, Aa enlarges the text and the screen stays awake. See Reading an SOP.
• Assignments: see what is due and complete it. The installed app includes shortcuts to My assignments and Ask a question, which Android shows when you press and hold the app icon.
• Ask: get an answer on the spot.
• Search: tap the magnifying glass in the top bar.

Keeping it up to date

When a new version of SOPCompass is available, the app shows SOPCompass was updated. Tap Reload to get it.
