SOPCompass keeps earlier versions of every SOP so anyone with edit rights can look back and undo a change that went wrong.

When a version is saved

A version is recorded:

  • When you click Edit (the state before your changes).
  • When you click Done (one version for the whole editing session).
  • Before deleting a step or card.
  • Before a restore, a split, a capture or video being added, and an AI update being saved.
  • When policy sign-off is turned on.

If nothing changed, no duplicate version is kept. The last 50 versions are held.

View history

  1. Open the SOP.
  2. Click More, then History.

Each row shows when the version was saved, who saved it, the SOP’s title at the time, how many cards and steps it had and why it was saved (for example “before editing”). The top row, Now, is the SOP as it is today.

History shows shape rather than a line-by-line comparison. If a version has more steps than today, the step count is highlighted, which makes an accidental deletion easy to spot.

Everyone who can open the SOP can see its history.

Restore a version

Editors, admins and owners can restore.

  1. In History, find the version you want.
  2. Click Restore.
  3. Confirm. The message tells you how many cards and steps the SOP will go from and to.

The current version is kept, so you can undo the restore the same way.

Common questions

How many versions are kept?

The last 50 versions of each SOP.

Can a restore be undone?

Yes. The current version is kept before a restore, so you can restore it again from History.

Does History show when an SOP was moved?

No. History tracks the SOP's content. Moves between libraries and pillars are recorded in the workspace's activity instead.
